Caritas
Description
Caritas Regio is a network of 16 regional aid organizations across Switzerland, focused on fighting poverty and promoting social and professional integration. When I joined the project, the MVP had just launched. I supported several feature releases, including campaign pages, a blog section, and various module refinements. One core challenge was representing 16 regional offices within a single website – especially in the “Services” section, where offerings are similar but vary in key details. This section is currently being restructured to better reflect evolving client needs.
As part of my Interaction Design diploma thesis, I explored how to simplify access to support services. People in difficult situations need clarity and trust, not complexity. I proposed a low-threshold entry experience with guiding questions to show only relevant, accessible services – avoiding false expectations and ensuring cost transparency. I also introduced a warmer visual language to replace the dominant red and somber imagery, aiming to convey connection, hope, and the message: you are not alone. My insights and design proposals are now informing the ongoing redesign to better serve this vulnerable audience.
